Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Supervising Advanced Practice Nurse (Clinic Area) for the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Supervising Advanced Practice Nurse will facilitate the research mission and ensure the delivery of competent, compassionate and effective nursing care for adults receiving cancer treatment and demonstrate competency in recognizing the unique needs of adult patients. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Manages the delivery of all clinical activities in the Clinic Area on a daily basis.
Provides guidance and direction to the nursing clinical staffs and oversees the organization and prioritization of workflow.
Facilitates the research mission by collaborating with member of the Office of Human Research Services in the implementation of clinical research protocols and the follow-up of patients in the Clinic Area.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Registered as a Professional Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
Five (5) years oncology-specific nursing experience required, preferably in an ambulatory setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills and the ability to function in a team environment required.
Demonstrated knowledge is necessary of how to accomplish superior performance in a union environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
American Heart Association: Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
