STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support services to students enrolled in the Step Up to College Transition Program as part of the Division for Access and Transition, assist Program Director with enrollment and advisement activities, maintain student records and enters required data into DESE SMARTT system.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Reports to the Director of the Step Up to College Transition Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with adult basic education programs and community agencies to enroll high school equivalency (HiSET) graduates into the Step Up to College Transition Program
Assist Program Director with program orientations, recruitment presentations, program workshops, and other activities, as necessary.
Assist students through the college enrollment process
Collaborate with program and college staff to track students' academic progress
Input grant required data into DESE SMARTT system.
Maintain student records on attendance and academic progress
Assist students with the development of academic and career goals
Implement comprehensive retention strategies such as:
Problem solving with students to address potential barriers to program completion
Making referrals to appropriate academic and student support services
Assist students in their adjustment to the college environment.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree, demonstrated experience providing transition services to students entering college, experience working with adult basic education students and the ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of retention strategies and learning communities.
