The Associate Director of Donor Relations will oversee the day-to-day operations of donor relations and be responsible for implementing, executing and maintaining strategic donor relations and stewardship processes. This position will supervise and train all donor relations staff to ensure consistent processes and procedures. In addition, this position will lead the coordination of centralized Advancement stewardship processes and work directly with colleges/units to ensure best practices are maintained across the division.
Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Prospect Development, the Associate Director of Donor Relations will:
Work with the Director of Donor Relations and Prospect Development to outline and implement consistent policies and procedures in line with industry best practices
Organize efforts to develop, implement, and improve upon current stewardship efforts for University Advancement
Design and implement donor centric processes for stewardship in line with University Advancement strategic goals
Identify industry best practices for donor relations processes and stewardship
Manage donor relations staff and any student staff within donor relations
Bachelor's degree with experience in higher education or related field.
Demonstrated ability to draft/write business correspondence and printed materials.
Individuals should demonstrate professionalism, with strong communication skills and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience with desktop computer skills and office software applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to work as a team member in a complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated excellence in teamwork and project management.
Ability to work with top donors and/or university administration.
Experience in the field of Donor Relations.
Demonstrated managerial experience.
Information management experience with Blackbaud and/or other large database systems.
Project management or related experience preferred.
