We have an immediate need for an experienced, personable and highly motivated Health and Benefits Department Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will manage and lead a team of professionals who educate and advise clients and prospects in their selection of health and health-related benefit plans, and TPA services. You will maintain and grow an existing book of business, as well as prospecting and attracting new clients. You must be knowledgeable in the areas of benefit plans, regulations and changes in applicable laws. Excellent written and oral communications skills, as well as organization skills, are crucial. This position reports to the President of the Agency.

This position requires an individual capable of managing the day-to-day operations of the department while strengthening the existing book of business and securing new clients. Knowledge and understanding of the changes and enhancements to benefit plans, regulations and the law is essential in order to maximize the benefit to our clients and the department. The ability to communicate those changes to existing clients and prospects is equally important.
The manager of the benefits department should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years’ experience, either Carrier or Agency - Professional licensing and continuing education as required by New York State - Computer proficiency with the ability to learn, utilize and maximize the benefits of using the agency management system - Cross-sell with other Agency departments - Work well with peers and subordinates - Exceptional oral and written communication skills
