The Communication & Program Coordinator provides communication and program administration support for two dynamic centers at AU’s School of Communication, the Center for Media & Social Impact (CMSI) and the Internet Governance Lab (IGL). The incumbent will be responsible for handling social media outreach and other communications for both centers. Serves as the point person for inquiries, answering general questions, responding to research and opportunities, and distributing studies and information. Helps to coordinate events and outreach with SOC and AU communication and marketing staff to publicize Center activities and achievements.
The coordinator keeps records regarding the Centers’ finances and assists with the preparation of required reports, and works with the appropriate departments of the University to assure timely processing a range of financial and HR transactions. Interfaces with consultants contributing to the work of each Center.
This position is 100% supported by external funds. Some evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.

The Center for Media & Social Impact (CMSI) is an innovation lab and research center that creates, studies, and showcases media for social impact under the directorship of Prof Caty Borum Chattoo. Focusing on independent, documentary and public media, the Center bridges boundaries between scholars, producers and communication practitioners across media production, media impact, public policy, and audience engagement.
The Internet Governance Lab is a center under the leadership of Prof Laura DeNardis for evidence-based research, policy formulation, and teaching in Internet architecture and governance. Internet policy debates rank among the most important public policy areas of the 21st century, shaping civil liberties, human rights, access and inclusion, and economic development across the globe.

A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Two years professional program management experience
Must possess excellent communication skills and exhibit mature confidence interacting with high-profile constituents
