Reporting to a Sr. HR Consultant, provides professional consultation and administrative oversight to leaders and employees in assigned units, ensuring the integrity of Human Resources’ structures, policies and processes.
Serves assigned units as primary HR contact for: talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, training, facilitation and related HR areas.
Proactively identifies, explores and evaluates complicated employee relations and HR issues that require thorough analysis, creative problem solving and presentation of various approaches to address issues, advocating for best possible approach.
Provides guidance to employees with a positive customer service-oriented approach.
Leads projects and provides consultation and guidance to management and staff relative to policies, procedures and issues related to all areas of human resource management.
Collaborates with HR team and campus representatives to solve problems and implement new and special projects. Researches best practices and makes proposals and recommendations for improvement.
Represents UMSL HR on campus and UM System task forces and committees.
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from an accredited college or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of functional HR experience in an exempt role from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Employee Relations experience.
Strong customer service orientation
Experience with EEO and Affirmative Action.
Experience administering and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
Experience using PeopleSoft software applications.
Professional certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.
