Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager.
The New York University School of Medicine's Division of Healthcare Delivery Science, housed in the Department of Population Health, is seeking a qualified Project Manager to coordinate and manage research operations related to Dr. Yindalon Aphinyanaphongs' projects and MCIT projects. This position will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, day-to-day activities, and completion of multiple projects with the Predictive Analytics Unit and MCIT. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and required obligations to subjects, Principal Investigator, research team and the sponsor.
Project Management - Oversees planning/management of study activities and of multiple projects as assigned. Schedules regular project staff meetings; develops agendas in advance of meetings. Drafts and distributes minutes and clear task lists to participants to ensure adequate project progress. Reviews progress of projects and initiate appropriate actions to achieve target objectives.
Reporting and Data Analysis - Prepares draft progress reports to funding agencies and presentations to sponsoring and regulatory agencies. Prepares and provides reports to all necessary parties (e.g., the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, participating practices etc.) on the progress of the study as needed. Recommends changes/additions to established data fields. Analyses data collected, formulates, prepares database and generates a complete measurement report for review by the director.
Research Activities - Collects information for the research project(s). This may include abstraction of data from the patient chart (e.g., laboratory or diagnostic test results, surgical/radiation treatments delivered, adverse drug reactions, etc); abstraction of data for publications, observations, or data collection from outside physicians offices. Uses tools to facilitate data collection (e.g. calendars, schedules, tracking logs, etc). Audits and updates the database or the case report forms. Conducts study visits, obtains and documents information within the time frame specified. Collects, compiles and conducts preliminary analyses of data, statistics, and other materials for reports.
To qualify you must have a Master's degree or equivalent in health care administration or related discipline.
Minimum of two-four years progressively responsible related experience coordinating research studies
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications and electronic medical records
Effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
Commitment to continuous learning as required by department administration
Ability to manage time, multi task, and prioritize work
Must be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to work independently if necessary
Strong understanding and knowledge base of coordination requirements associated with clinical/research trials
Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
Ability to work well under pressure
Experience working in an Academic Medical Center preferred
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred
Knowledge of and familiarity with electronic medical records and databases
