Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following.
Managing day to day client relationships by identifying and understanding client needs and delivering the best ideas, solutions and products to originate commodity finance and ancillary business within BTMU and other parts of MUFG.
Conduct high level analysis of client strategy using this in conjunction with market analysis to develop client recommendations and rationales for credit approval.
Lead business development activities including meeting new clients and leading pitches and proposals for deals.
Together with the Commodity Finance credit team, ensure compliance with the credit application process and present credit cases.
Review Facility and Security documentation accepting accountability for commercial aspects and liaising with European Legal Office and/or external legal counsel for their areas of responsibility.
Act as the primary point of contact for technical and client related issues within your portfolio and liaise with other stakeholders to seek resolution and / or escalating as required.
Develop and guide junior relationship manager in particular relating to client relationship management financing structures, documentation and market practice
Success in this role will require the following.
Degree level education with relevant post degree qualification preferred (e.g. CFA or ACA)
A minimum of 10 years commodity trade finance experience is essential
Proven ability to coach and develop team members
A strong background in Credit Risk Sanctioning or operations would be advantageous
Specialist knowledge of credit risk management and commodity trade finance
Strong analytical, numeracy, presentation and communication skills
Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Demonstrable knowledge of the competitor landscape
