Media Services Technical Specialist California College of the Arts MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as an AV technician, preferably with an educational institution, previous supervisory Experience and skills preferred. Awareness of, and interest in, trends related to digital Production and post-production related to audio, visual and peripheral gear and digital media. Extensive working/installation/troubleshooting experience with a wide array of media Acquisition and presentation technologies including: Digital Projectors and AV installations Switchers, scalers, PA systems Video/Data/Slide/Film Projectors SD & HD Video/DSLR Photo Cameras Digital Audio Recorders DVD/MiniDV/VHS Players Tube/LCD/Plasma Monitors Apple Macintosh Laptops Strong Mac OS X proficiency Software: Final Cut Studio/DVD Studio Pro, Podcast Producer, OS X Server, ProTools/iApps, MS Word and Excel and similar Must be able to work effectively, troubleshoot problems, and juggle many different tasks under Pressure within a highly dynamic and demanding technical/educational environment. Interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Students, faculty and staff; providing them technical support with patience and clarity; ability to Effectively manage situations dealing with frustrated patrons. Ability to apply technological Innovations to Media Center office operations, familiarity with WebCheckout or other Inventory/checkout management software preferred, experience or education in the arts Preferred, ability to lift 40 lbs.
