The Office of Undergraduate Studies, College Assistance Migrant Program is seeking a Director TRiO Upward Bound & Beaver Hangouts. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.
Primary responsibility of this position is to oversee OSU's TRiO Upward Bound and Beaver Hangouts college access programs. The position will coordinate and implement implement the activities of the U.S. Department of Education funded Upward Bound program.
Upward Bound is a college preparatory program for first generation/low income high school students which is funded by federal grant funds and administered by an institution of post secondary education. Sixty students from South Albany High School will receive academic support throughout their program tenure. A six week residential summer program is another component of the program. The program director hires and supervises staff, recruits and enrolls student participants and prepares all federal narrative and fiscal reports. In addition, the position will coordinate and oversee the Beaver Hangouts online mentoring program.
Typically requires Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited not-for-profit college or university in discipline of choice. 1 year experience related to assigned responsibilities.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in education, counseling, business or related field.
Three years of experience in planning, implementing and evaluating summer or academic year student centered programs.
Three years of experience in providing academic support services to low-income and first-generation students.
Two years of experience in budget, staff supervision, and evaluation.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Motor Vehicle Check Requirement.
Regular 8:00AM – 5:00PM hours. There are some weekend work hours.
Salary (Minimum): $36,228
Salary (Maximum): $61,560
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
