The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Marin Community Clinics (MCC): provides vision and guidance to the organization; informs the Board of Directors and advocates and guides the organization in fulfillment of its mission; develops and implements the organization’s strategic business plans as approved by the Board of Directors for long term fiscal sustainability; builds community relationships with other healthcare and governmental entities; facilitates the implementation of programs and activities to ensure success of the organization; and provides the leadership and direction to ensure that the organization complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Oversees senior management team and provides clear direction and leadership to enable MCC to meet its goals and objectives. Maintains effective communication with the Board of Directors, reports any significant information, and supports and facilitates the work of the Board of Directors. Manages and oversees various organizational programs and projects to ensure their implementation and ongoing sustainability. Manages financial and physical resources, presents budget recommendations to the Board and ensures staff adherence to the approved budget. Ensures effective management of decision-making and day to day operations of the organization. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, and operations, and forecast data to determine departmental progress toward stated goals and objectives. Oversees the Human Resources Department to ensure compliance with the recruitment and retention strategies within the organization. Oversees recruitment and partners with senior management to ensure top talent is brought into the organization. Ensures that the organization maintains a positive image, and addresses public relations matters. Oversees fundraising activities, and the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs and services of the organization. Is continually looking for future opportunities and supports and motivates employees in the development of programs within operations of the organization. Oversees the Compliance Department and directs creation of policies, and plans recommendations to the Board of Directors. Provides leadership to ensure senior management has the resources to execute established goals. Actively pursues and enhances key community relations, including with local government agencies, foundations, and major donors. Conducts research and works with clinicians and department leaders to obtain information about target audiences so as to identify new programs that will benefit patients and the organization. Directs Board Liaison to ensure proper support for and communication with the Board of Directors. Ensures the Executive Management Team has access to and participates in opportunities for career development, education and growth.
Graduate degree in healthcare administration, finance, business administration, public health or related filed. Advanced degree preferred. Eight to ten years of healthcare operational leadership experience. Experience with research to develop and maintain necessary funding to underwrite operations and capital expansion plans. Experience working in Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting preferred. High level of professionalism and leadership skills. Ability to use considerable discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy when dealing with highly confidential information. Experience in managing affairs in a nonprofit setting must possess a strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations and accreditation standards. Must possess good analytical and strategic thinking skills. Must be an excellent communicator and have good public speaking skills. Must have a sound knowledge of human resources management. Must foster a strong sense of teamwork in senior management, clinicians and other MCC teams.
