Assistant / Associate Professor
The University of Cincinnati Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is searching for a full-time assistant / associate professor who will contribute to the department’s research, teaching, and service missions. The ideal applicant will be an experienced educator with an established record of scholarly activity and professional service. This is a 12-month per year position with rank and faculty track commensurate with credentials and experience.
Position Responsibilities: The assistant/ associate professor is primarily responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Master of Occupational graduate program which is currently in the applicant stage of the accreditation process with an anticipated program start date of May 2018. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to: course development, primary instruction of didactic courses using traditional classroom and online delivery modalities; participation in recruitment, retention, and admissions activities; participation in program committee work including program evaluation, accreditation tasks, and other tasks as assigned by the Program Director and/or Department Head. Participation in teaching, scholarship, and service activity are required and are consistent with the missions and faculty evaluative criteria of the University, College, and Department.
Graduate of an ACOTE accredited occupational therapy professional program
Terminal doctoral degree in an allied health profession, higher education, human movement science, exercise physiology, or related field
Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the state of Ohio
Record of peer-reviewed publications and / or scholarly presentations
Three years of teaching /academic experience in occupational therapy
Demonstrated experience with online / distance education instruction
Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: neurorehabilitation, community health, orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, and mental health
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, problem solving, counseling, conflict management, and follow-through
Ability to work independently
Interest and demonstrated ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
Ability to take direction and coordinate work with colleagues, peers, and community partners
Ability to assist with tasks assigned by Program Director and Department Head
Active in professional activities
Experience with the ACOTE accreditation process
