The Academic Support Assistant provides administrative support for all academic initiatives to 15-20 full-time faculty members. This involves support for faculty, courses, scholarship, class specific events and advising. He/she helps with typing, copying, scanning, data entry for ExamSoft as well as other types of assistance that may be requested by faculty.
Uploads course documents to Canvas, assist with editing PowerPoint presentations, set up Skype as needed Format exams and syllabi Design surveys for faculty members using Qualtrics/Canvas Assist with data input of courses and test/quiz questions into electronic testing system
Proof reading, editing and indexing, preparation for presentations (including posters) for conferences Assist faculty with contract renewal, promotion and tenure review packets
Room bookings, event planning, scheduling meetings/conference calls and correspondence for faculty
Prepares & edits word processing documents including correspondence, exams, chapters in textbooks, abstracts, meeting minutes, student recommendations, grants, and course materials. Helps prepare slides for class presentations. Arranges audiovisual equipment for classroom use as needed. Assists faculty with creation and development of Canvas sites. Special Projects as needed (e.g. database work, help with spreadsheets)

High school degree or equivalent preferred and 2-3 years of experience in a faculty support role. Must have excellent computer skills, word processing and Google suite of applications. Experience with presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) and Canvas also strongly desired. Must have strong proofreading and organizational skills and attention to detail; a high degree of flexibility to handle changing priorities; creativity, judgment and excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Must be able to learn new technologies to improve efficiency.
