Under the general supervision of the IPP Medical Manager, the incumbent provides a variety of patient support duties and interpreting services to patients in the International Patient Program. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring Embassy and third party authorizations including obtaining extensions as necessary and uploading authorizations & Letter of Guarantee into the EMR system.
Responsible for communicating with the appropriate department if there are any changes in coverage. Incumbent will be in charge of registering International patients to access care. Provides patient escort services in reaching appointment locations and follow-up and ancillary testing sites as needed for international patients. Assists with paperwork, delivers documents and medical supplies as needed. Incumbent provides medical interpretation and translation for patient care staff, patients and their families.
Incumbent will be responsible to coordinate unique patient's care needs, such as private duty nursing, home healthcare nursing and having special medical equipment available upon patient's arrival to local area. Assess and monitors patient's understanding of the information conveyed and keeps physicians/nurses informed as to the level of that understanding. Accurately conveys information between patient and provider. Maintains confidentiality, impartiality, professional integrity, and abides by the code of interpreters ethics.
Three (3) years of relevant experience in a comparable environment.
Proven experience working with international patients.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Bilingual: Must be fluent in both Arabic and English (written & verbal).
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism and good judgment.
Experience in translation/interpreting.
Experience with direct patient interaction.
Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
Excellent driving record, proof of a valid driver's license and car insurance are required.
