Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH) is seeking a Director of Admissions and Recruitment for the department of Student Affairs. This Director will be responsible for generating an overall creative, entrepreneurial, and modern recruitment strategy to increase the quality, quantity, and diversity of student enrollment into all of the RU-SPH programs. Will be responsible for organizing, in cooperation with key stakeholders within the school (e.g., Dean, Dean for Student Affairs, Department Chairs, Admissions Staff etc.), all student recruitment, through in-person events and meetings, as well as through new technologies, such as social-media.
Works with the Office of the Dean to design and implement overall recruitment strategy including the use of social media.
Understands educational programs, ideal student characteristics, and specific enrollment goals.
Performs interview phone calls as needed for admissions decisions; plans follow up calls or student visits for prospective students.
Identifies core, diverse, undergraduate student organizations and associations both within and outside Rutgers for outreach, and creates culturally appropriate outreach activities.
Works with career/graduate schools to investigate and implement opportunities for graduate fairs or posting of recruitment information; plans, facilitates, and attends all recruitment events.
Creates and modifies recruitment materials, both written and video.
Maintains complete list of recruiting events, potential applicants reached, characteristics and interests of potential applicants.
Surveys currently enrolled students to assess effective recruitment strategies.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and Rutgers’ regulations, laws and policies.
Home Location Campus: Piscataway (RBHS)
Experience with progressively more responsibility within college admissions, preferably in a medical school setting.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience with software such as Adobe InDesign or Dreamweaver a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of public health discipline and educational programming.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and work with the highest levels of university administration, as well as executives elsewhere in the public health sector.
Excellent written communication skills.
Must be attentive to the needs of the organization and contributions of co-workers, faculty and students.
Must appreciate unique characteristics of different cultures and minority groups and respect individual differences.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, as well as student databases and other forms of technology critical to admissions work.
Must be proficient in the use of diverse social media platforms.
Must be interested in modern technologies and their usefulness in increasing effectiveness.
Team-player, innovative and a self-starter with motivation to contribute to the overall goals of the University.

Valid driver's license required.
Must be able to travel between both SPH campuses, Newark and Piscataway.
Flexible for weekend and evening travel to accommodate recruiting events.
