Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. Our extraordinary researchers and clinicians work together to drive innovation and tackle some of the greatest challenges of biomedical science. The Epidemiology Department at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) focuses on cancer prevention by investigating the causes/risks of developing cancer and by evaluating the effect of screening. We are currently seeking a Research Study Assistant to conduct patient recruitment for a pancreatic tumor registry study.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9 am – 5 pm
Your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Utilize appropriate methodologies to approach patients for study recruitment, completion of research protocol activities, including collection of biospecimens
Abstract patient health information by reviewing patient medical charts and existing databases
Maintenance of study databases, data entry, and data quality monitoring and assurance
Provide clerical and administrative support, such as preparation of study mailings and following up with patients as needed to complete research protocol activities
Generate data reports on the progress of research protocol as needed
Ensure that all appropriate Institutional, State, and Federal regulations are followed throughout the research protocol and that research protocols are approved by Institutional Review Board, and all regulatory documentation is completed

Skilled in use of computers and databases
Familiar with medical/cancer terminology or is interested in science/medicine
A Bachelor’s Degree OR High school diploma with two years medical or research experience at MSK.
