Summary Provide reception, patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification and general clerical activities..
Greet patients and visitors, providing check-in and check-out functions. Obtain accurate financial, insurance, and demographic data. Ensure required paperwork is complete.
Answer phones and schedule appointments, ensuring patient is seen in a timely manner. May confirm appointments in advance, alerting patients of their referral status. Maintain provider and department schedules.
Coordinate insurance authorizations. Verify and document benefits, initiate pre-authorizations and process referrals.
Provide general clerical support, including filing, scanning, and coordination of release of medical records.
High school diploma or GED required.
2 years front desk experience in a hospital or medical office preferred.
