Your role will be to develop, deliver and expand a range of portfolio solutions to our clients globally to help them achieve their investment outcomes and objectives. Your role will involve working with portfolio managers on real-life investments, client-facing teams on specific analyses, as well as with product development and marketing across our organisation.
Your role will include a review of current portfolios, defining appropriateness in meeting objectives, and making recommendations on improvements. This will include multi-asset class and asset-specific projects. You will need to draw on resources across the organization and academia, and add to this with your own research. Our work covers all global investment markets and our clients span a wide range, so this role requires a high level of creativity.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks:
Interpretation of client objectives and determination of client's risk tolerance
Identifying and quantifying risks in client portfolio to ensure adequate compensation for risks taken
Forward looking analysis and historical simulations (incl. optimizations, monte carlo simulations and stress testing methodologies) to evaluate potential portfolio improvements
Ongoing work with investment teams to understand new products and concepts and how these products can fit into a broader portfolio solution
Engage with clients in substantial conversations to make valuable improvements to their portfolio
Develop investment sections of publication, presentations and marketing material
Work with ISG colleagues, sales and other investment divisions to review the market place. Develop ideas to proactively bring to clients
Work to invent and improve products and strategies
Market Analysis and Research
Work collectively to analyze the broad market environment and how it impacts investors so that we can actively develop potential investment options
Build Thought Leadership to help improve SSGA's broad market positioning
Education and Experience
Experience in asset management. Knowledge in asset allocation and risk management. Around 7 years' experience
Experience interacting with institutional investors and investment consultants in EMEA
Master's Degree or above with exposure to some or all of the following disciplines: Finance, Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics. CFA designation, doctorate considered an advantage
Excellent communication skills (written and presentation)
Genuine interest and deep understanding of financial markets and asset allocation techniques more broadly
Advanced skills in financial theories and applied investment solutions
Ability to build global networks and a strong team orientation
Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Programming skills (Visual Basic, Matlab)
Good knowledge of financial information software (Factset, Bloomberg)
