Directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer for all elements of the operation of the programs in the Region; for attention to safety, health and welfare of the people served; for the implementation of fiscal, environmental, and programmatic procedures to ensure compliance with applicable State regulations. Performs all duties in accordance with the philosophy of the agency, and Board of Directors, as expressed in policies, philosophies, and bylaws.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Directs the development of regional strategic and business plans consistent with the established mission, vision, core values and strategic plan of the organization, and ensures their proper execution. 2. Participates in the development of the organization's strategic plan. 3. Assist in the development of annual budgets and provides firm budget management to maintain costs and reduce loss from operations. 4. Evaluates need and recommend opportunities for business development and expansion in the region. 5. Provides leadership to ensure best utilization of resources in obtaining corporate and regional goals, regulatory compliance, and compliance with corporate policies and to ensure the needs of the individuals served are met. 6. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with local and state government, community leaders, pastors, congregations, county social service personnel, professional associations and other service providers as necessary in the overall management of the region. 7. Engages in other outside activities consistent with the organization's responsibilities in the community and the industry. 8. Creates, interpret, and recommend regional policies. 9. Reviews and evaluates the total regional performance on a continuing basis and provides direction for modification of systems and/or implementation of new systems. 10. Anticipate and effectively deal with issues that could enhance the region's opportunities or adversely impact business results. 11. Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, vision, values, philosophy and culture of the organization. 12. Mentor, guide and coach direct reports in order to expand their capabilities and build management depth in the organization. 13. Must be available to assist, or designate, in any crisis or emerging crisis, at any time, in order to maintain health and safety of staff and residents. 14. Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others. 15. Oversee all training and ensure new hire, on-the-job, and on-going training is in compliance with regulatory agencies. 16. Risk management – ensure and identify any possible safety concerns to the programs and/or Region and present to COO for review. 17. Audit, at least quarterly, all homes for regulatory standards, such as compliance.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. A Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology. At least four years of experience in service provision to people with intellectual disabilities at a management level. At least three years of experience in business management or personnel supervision. 2. Must have a valid driver's license and clear driving record; must have cleared and approved criminal background check; must have legal status in the U.S.; Group Home Administrator's license will be required within 6 months of hire. 3. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test. 4. Must have ability to travel throughout the region and the organization as required. 5. Knowledge about local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to service provision to persons with intellectual disabilities. 6. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. 7. Ability to evaluate statistical data. 8. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and person-centered programming. 9. Must be team oriented, well organized and decisive. 10. Political awareness. 11. Ability to manage multiple projects. 12. Must have exceptional analytical, problem identification and problem solving skills. 13. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. 14. Have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required. 15. Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
