The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking an Organ Procurement Surgeon to join our Clinical Faculty in the Division of Transplant. Rank and compensation will depend upon qualifications. This tenure-ineligible position will be responsible for on call availability for surgical procurement of solid organs for human transplantation, including travel to outlying hospitals for procurement and safe transportation of organs to UVA; performing back table preparation of organs for implantation; providing surgical assistance during organ implantation and in general surgery cases; as well as providing assistance with human pancreatic islet isolations.
Qualified candidates must have a MD or equivalent, have completed both general surgery and transplant residency programs, and currently have or be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
