The Part-Time Media Support Technician will be responsible for supporting classroom instruction and campus/inter-campus meetings and events, as well as other related duties as assigned. Duties primarily carried out on the Brockton Campus (to include the Conference Center) but may include our Canton and Middleboro facilities. The Media Support Technician will rely on excellent customer service, problem solving skills, and communication skills to provide support to resolve most day-to-day issues. Knowledge of existing college media systems or similar tools preferred. Systems include: Polycom and compatible teleconferencing video and audio systems, Windows and Mac OS laptops and desktops, Microsoft Office Suite, audio board and sound system setup, Crestron and Extron control systems, portable and mounted data projectors, DVD & Blu-Ray Players, multimedia digital players, Skype and other meeting support software. Success in this role requires a well-rounded individual with a genuine enthusiasm for technology and true interest in helping people achieve more through the careful adoption and support of information technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide assistance and training on the operation and utilization of audio/visual media for college faculty, staff and students
Enter and update trouble tickets/incidents in our ticketing system
Setup and configure a range of technology tools including: document cameras, Windows and Mac desktops and laptops, web site access, flat panel/touch screens, teleconferencing systems, audio conferencing systems, and other items as assigned
Must be able to receive written and verbal instructions and training, check and respond to emails, communicate verbally on the telephone and other audio or visual communication devices to assess support needs
Collaborate with full-time technicians to tackle complex issues
Respond quickly to technical issues in classrooms, meeting spaces and event venues
Provide supervisor and/or team members with regular updates on common problems encountered and identify possible longer-term solutions/improvements to reduce future problems
Use communication channels to inform IT teams of important issues and/or information which may be helpful in improving performance
Good communication skills & technical knowledge
Must be able to carry equipment, climb a ladder, work on overhead equipment
Ability to work independently
Able to lift between 20-50 pounds & push media carts
Perform maintenance & cleaning of the equipment
Other duties as assigned

Hours: 18 hours per week
Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour
