Stockton University in New Jersey seeks applications for a full-time Visiting Instructor of Mathematics and First-Year Studies for the academic year 2017-2018. Successful candidate will join core faculty housed in the School of General Studies in teaching developmental and other first-year mathematics courses as part of an innovative, University-wide First-Year Studies program.
Under the direction of the Dean of General Studies, the Visiting Instructor of Mathematics and First-Year Studies will:
Offer courses in FRST mathematics and the interdisciplinary General Studies curriculum;
Serve as a preceptor to students, as necessary;
Provide service to the University, community and profession;
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Dean of General Studies and/or the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Stockton University’s diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission.
Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., mathematics, mathematics education, statistics)
Must have relevant experience teaching mathematics, including teaching elementary or intermediate algebra.
Experience teaching mathematics to at-risk and liberal arts first-year college students.
