The George Mason University School of Business is seeking a Tenure-Track Open-Rank Faculty position in the Organizational Behavior/Human Resources (OB/HR) domain, broadly defined, to join us in Fall 2018. Responsibilities will vary with rank, but for all ranks will include publishing in premier business journals; teaching courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs, and service to the area, school, university, and profession. Teaching load is 2:2 or 2:1 based on faculty member qualifications and the unit's workload policy. Salary will be commensurate with level, experience, and qualification.
Earned Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate discipline prior to the start date;
Record of scholarly and professional accomplishments consistent with an appointment for the appropriate rank, including evidence of potential for publishing significant research in top-tier journals; and
Evidence of potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Evidence of significant published or "in press" research in top-tier journals;
Experience teaching courses at either the graduate or undergraduate levels;
Willingness to develop and/or teach needed courses at both graduate and undergraduate levels (including online); and
Evidence of good citizenship and the ability to work well with colleagues within and across areas of the School of Business.
The Management Area at the George Mason University School of Business offers a vibrant, ambitious and collegial community that highly values excellence in research, teaching, and service. We currently have 13 tenured and tenure-track faculty with diverse research interests in the areas of OB/HR and strategy. The management area also includes several exceptional full-time teaching faculty who are equal partners in our education mission. In the past several years, our OB/HR tenured and tenure-track faculty have published in many top journals, including the Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organizational Science, and Journal of Applied Psychology. Our OB/HR faculty serve or have served on the executive leadership boards of several AOM Divisions (e.g., CM, DandITC, GDO, MOC, and OB) and are editorial board members of several top journals.
