Collects, reviews, verifies, validates, codes and inputs data into a computer processing system; audits output data. Identifies and resolves production related errors. Maintains and revises procedural lists, control records and coding schemes to process source data. Assists with the management and coordination of connections with program and study partners. Assists in the development and maintenance of tracking documents, spreadsheets, and procedural lists. Provides administrative support to supervising programs and projects. Assists in tasks related to dissemination of research products. Participates and assists with team and departmental meetings. Performs data entry and cleaning activities, as necessary.
Program Descriptions: The CONNECT Complex Systems and Health Disparities Research Program, is focused around elucidating the complex mechanisms driving the health disparities of stigmatized populations, in particular gender and sexual minorities. The Evaluation, Data Integration, and Technical Assistance Research Program (EDIT) is focused around being a local and national leader in the evaluation of health interventions focused on sexual and gender minorities, with an emphasis on HIV programs. CONNECT is directed by Michelle Birkett, PhD, and EDIT is directed by Gregory Phillips II, PhD. Both are Assistant Professors in the Department of Medical Social Sciences in the Feinberg School of Medicine and faculty within the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH).
Project Descriptions: K-NECT (K08 - Networks Embedded in Context; PI: Birkett) advances understanding of drug use and HIV racial disparities in young men who have sex with men by examining the intersection of racism and homophobia, how these impact the spread of HIV. YRBS R01 (PI: Phillips) utilizes data from the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey to assess alcohol use disparities in sexual minority youth across jurisdictions and time points.
Participates in team and other departmental meetings to share experiences, learn about what other teams are doing and help solve problems.
Manages data receipt, tracking and follows up on assigned project(s).
Detects trends and reports on patterns of errors.
Contacts customers to obtain missing data.
Learns and complies with appropriate compliance and regulation requirements regarding protected data.
Provides administrative support to organizational area.
Receives, collects, reviews, edits, and enters data.
Partners with customers to ensure data is accurate, including running or reviewing quality assurance reports, correcting erroneous data and providing feedback to the team.
Contacts customers to obtain missing data, to provide support to those providing data, and to answer general questions about processes and content.
