The Reference and Instruction Librarian – Science and Engineering provides reference and information services for the University's students and faculty as-well-as members of the general public; participates in a dynamic instructional program, including classroom and online instruction; consults and collaborates with scholars; and coordinates information resources to support the instructional and research needs of a diverse institution. Some evening and weekend reference duty and/or instruction is required. This position will serve as a liaison to academic units including the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science; School of Architecture; the Departments of Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics; and the Systems Science Program. Portland State University non-tenure track faculty members contribute to faculty governance activities within the Library and the University and engage in research activities and professional service, as assigned. This full-time, temporary, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position reports to the Research & Instruction Services Manager.
