The Curriculum Specialist will work with faculty and students to help meet the needs of preparing students to enter the workforce. The Curriculum Specialist will meet with offices around campus, as appropriate, to identify areas of resource improvement for our students and provide workshops, trainings, or events to promote awareness in these areas. Topics may include partnering with OHIO offices to offer resume workshops, GRE study sessions, IRB submission assistance, preparing conference session proposals, edTPA video recording and teaching tips, etc. The Curriculum Specialist will also work with the Department of Teacher Education, and local area teachers, to maintain a state-of-the-art curriculum resource center for teacher interns to practice with and prepare lesson plan activities.
The Curriculum Specialist must be able to identify needs and maintain "top of the tier" classroom resources for the curriculum resource center; conduct annual needs analysis with local school districts to identify modern teaching resources that are being used in K-12 schools, which in turn, are necessary for our students to learn and have access to in their teaching preparation; Coordinate with the Office of Clinical Experiences, Teacher Education, Online Program Outreach Coordinator, and other departments as necessary to identify, build, and promote professional development/CEU workshops to offer to public school teachers and community members; and Collect information and organize data for grant applications.
Master’s Degree in Education or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with instructing workshops; knowledge of technology and resources used in K-12 schools
Experience in workforce preparation workshops for students / technology and resource training workshops for faculty; experience with grant applications.
