The Lecture Prep Coordinator supports teaching faculty in the Department of Chemistry by preparing requested chemistry demonstrations for classes and for outreach activities and is responsible for subsequent clean-up. The Coordinator orders supplies for the demonstrations, maintains the Lecture Prep Room, and assists in the development of new demonstrations.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting such as handling chemicals, preparing solutions, and running chemical reactions. - Experience such as assembling and testing lab equipment. - Experience with software such as Microsoft Office. - Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelors degree in chemistry or biochemistry or related field or equivalent training and/or experience. - Experience in the development of new laboratory demonstrations. - Experience working with students in an academic environment.
Employee Category: Hourly Wage Staff, limited to 1500 hrs/year
