Join us and start doing your life's best work.The Community Program Manager is primarily responsible for developing external strategies for targeted outreach and advocacy to specified audiences to enhance Optum's goals and initiatives throughout Idaho's health care system.Work involves developing and participating in community engagement activities, which could include strategic planning efforts, public speaking and research and outreach to determine market needs. Additional job responsibilities include networking with community agencies and developing outreach contacts in support of the organization's goals; participating in community groups and / or advisory councils; accepting public speaking requests regarding program services and / or available community services and meeting with State Department representatives to fulfill mutual goals. Work also involves leading cross - departmental internal efforts to address gaps and opportunities, staff meetings and writing, editing and presenting community reports. Primary Responsibilities:Develop, lead and manage targeted population outreach program strategies including evaluating available programs and creating new community - based programs, partnerships, and other engagement initiativesIdentify, initiate, and strengthen relationships with targeted community stakeholdersDevelop and lead two - way communications efforts through meetings, surveys, written communications etc. in order to receive feedback and information from the community about the IBHP and Optum initiatives so improvements can be identified and executed uponAttend community meetings on behalf of Optum to listen and provide and / or present information about initiatives, and advocate for supportAttend community - based events relevant to community interests and activitiesDevelop and maintain various databases of groups of stakeholders for targeted outreach purposesWrite and edit community - based reports regarding relevant program information and data to enhance IBHP's membership, services and goalsDistribute information to the community and broader publics through multiple channelsDistribute information to Optum staff and community regarding engagement activitiesWork with internal cross - functional divisions to address identified gaps and opportunitiesProvide relevant informational updates on the Optum Idaho website regarding local, regional and national efforts to enhance the behavioral health care system.Job Scope:Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirementsSolves complex problems and / or conducts moderately complex analysesUses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise.Translates concepts into practiceWorks with minimal guidance, seeks guidance on only the more complex tasksPrioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines.Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise and on difficult issues.Coaches, provides feedback and guides othersActs as a resource for others with less experience
Requirements:High School Diploma / GED and 5+ years of communications, marketing, community organizing or other related experience in public relations.Familiarity with the State of Idaho and local neighborhoods / communities5+ years of experience creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint Assets:Bachelor's Degree (or higher) and 5+ years of communications, marketing, community organizing or other related experience in public relations.Careers with Optum.
