You will support the company's growth aspirations and ensure a favorable competitive edge in Medicaid procurements through developing and managing market and competitive intelligence projects, conducting primary and secondary market research, and providing analysis and actionable insights to support growth, planning and business decision needs. Incumbent may Telecommute or work from one of the C&S offices in either of the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin Primary Responsibilities:Conduct primary and secondary market research on competitors, market trend, policies, providers and consumer dynamicsAssess market and competitive intelligence needs, identify gaps, and define key intelligence parameters and deliverablesIdentify competitive programs / offerings and perform benchmarking comparisonsConduct strategic assessments of competitors, market segments, providers, and consumersDevelop cost, profitability and financial benchmarking analysis including due diligence and integrated financial modelingLead the development of critical analysis and actionable insights to support proposal development, sales growth, business development, strategic planning, and other business decision needsIdentify, track and forecast key sales, financial, and business drivers to support growth and strategic initiativesDrive growth and capability development through the research and assessment of emerging trends in Medicaid and related fields, including healthcare-adjacent opportunities and innovative approaches and programsPrepare comprehensive daily, weekly and monthly reports for distribution to local, regional, and national leadership teamsManage market & competitive intelligence projects to support key initiatives Work with the team to set up a robust process to gather, deposit, and transform data into analytical datasets and actionable insightsEstablish and maintain an effective market & competitive intelligence portal to communicate data, information, and insights
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or higher with 10+ years of professional experience5+ years of healthcare industry experience preferably in Medicaid2+ years of research skills with experience using a variety of web-based social and internet search tools and techniques 5+ years of competitive & market intelligence or business analysis experience 2+ years of cost and financial analysis or planning experience including P&L, financial/operational parameters, and earnings analysis3+ years of project management experience preferably in a matrix organizationAdvanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skillsIntense intellectual curiosityAbility to work under pressure and be comfortable with delivering results on a tight deadlineExcellent communication and presentation skillsAttention to detail to ensure data accuracy and qualityWork well both independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications:MBAAbility to synthesize large volumes of informationMedicaid or Medicare experience in proposal, product, and business developmentBackground in market & competitive intelligence, market research, finance, or business analysisExperience in analyzing P&L, earnings statements, financial parameters, as well as relevant financial planning and analysis experienceExperience in conducting M&A assessment including financial due diligence and modelingStrategy or business consulting experience Familiarity with SalesforceAdvanced analytical skillsExperience of using Tableau or similar dashboard and data visualizations software Experience with Access: establish Database, database managements Careers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
