Join us and start doing your life's best work.The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for answering incoming calls / completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system, verifies whether order is reimbursable. Dispenses any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals and injectables; may compound medications. Consults with customers, patients and / or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions. Consultations may be telephonic or in person. Reviews and approves / denies requests for prescription prior authorizations. Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of worksite.Primary Responsibilities:Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate informationContacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issueProcessing prescriptions (from intake to order completion) Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is providedConstantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance recordDeveloping and maintaining a good working relationship with our growing sale force. They should be able to help the sale team problem solve and find solutions to keep customers and doctor offices satisfied.Moderate work experience within own function.Some work is completed without established procedures.Basic tasks are completed without review by others.Supervision / guidance is required for higher level tasks.
Requirements:High school diploma / GED or higher Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of West Virginia is requiredFamiliarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applicationAvailable to work 40 hours per week and overtime as required according to the needs of the businessAssets:Pharmacy / prescription data entry experience preferredSoft Skills: Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitivePhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitorService center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activitiesOptumRx is an empowering place for people with the flexibility to help create change.
