Which is why your performance and innovation will find a reception here like nowhere else as you help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: Support the monthly close process by reviewing and recommending changes on accrual estimates made by offshore staffSupport the monthly close process for our Specialty Benefits business including preparing reporting for ActuaryWorking with actuaries on researching changes in medical claims trendsWorking with offshore staff on monthly close reporting including analysis and reviewPreparing and maintaining monthly close reporting toolsAnalyzing monthly financial results and providing commentaryAssisting with Regulatory filings and audit requestsAssisting with system and process improvementsAdhoc requests and researchPreparing and assisting with the review of account reconciliations and tieoutsPrepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Required Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related experience1+ year(s) of professional accounting and/ or finance experienceSolid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, familiarity with functions like v look ups) Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysesPreferred Qualifications:2+ years of professional accounting and/ or finance experienceMicrosoft Access, SQL experience, and working with large datasets Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
