Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)This position will interact with the client, internal product teams, finance, systems personnel (internal and external), actuarial, underwriting and other colleagues from other United business units.Primary Responsibilities:Ability to analyze and report on claims cost drivers.Ability to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools, such as Tableau or MicroStrategy.Interface with other UnitedHealth Group businesses.Statistical modeling and segmentation.Support actuarial in pricing evaluation and other key projects.Ad hoc analyses related to claims, lives, and value added services.Ability to mine data, develop summarized reports and present results to Senior Leaders.Play support role in driving analytic strategies.
Requirements:Bachelor's Degree (or higher) OR High School Diploma / GED with 7+ years of data analysis experience2+ years Data Analytics experience required Experience using SAS, SPSS, SQL or similar programming language.2+ years of experience in data extraction, data manipulation, reporting, and analysis required.Working knowledge of relational databases required.Experience MS Excel (macros and pivot tables, advanced formulas and data manipulation)Experience with MS Access (creating databases)Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the healthcare insurance industry preferredExperience in dashboard design and developmentDemonstrated capability in driving business results through statistical modeling and segmentation implementation, data analysis and reporting.Experience with BI tool such as Tableau, MicroStrategy preferred.Experience working with distributed computing tools such as Hadoop and MapReduce to analyze data preferred.Master's in Statistics or related field strongly preferred.Experience with Pig (Pig Hadoop Component) or Hive (Hive Hadoop Component)Careers at UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement.
