POSITION TITLE: Clinical Coordinator HOURS: Part-Time, 30 hours - Eligible for benefits DEPARTMENT: Center for Autism and Child Development, Rebecca Center, Music Therapy SUPERVISOR: Executive Director RC and CACD
GENERAL PURPOSE: The candidate will coordinate the day-to-day clinical and assessment services at the CACD and will provide direct services to children and their families. The candidate will coordinate all of the clinical services to ensure that treatment goals and interventions are being carried out by the team. In addition, the psychologist/clinical coordinator, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, will be involved in diagnosing and evaluating children as well as providing direct services to the children and their families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer assessments to children on the ASD and to their families as part of comprehensive evaluations • Schedule and Coordinate Assessment and Clinical services • Run and co-lead psychotherapy groups • Provide 1-1 psychotherapy and counseling services • Become proficient in various treatment models for children with ASD
Qualifications: • NYS Licensed clinical psychologist, or ABD with all coursework and internship duties completed • Degree required: PsyD or Ph.D • 3-5 years of clinical experience working children with ASDs • Basic understanding Music Therapy • Understanding of the DIR/Floor time Model • Understanding in child development (social-emotional development) • Understanding of autism treatment models (i.e. ABA, TEACH, etc.) • Experienced and qualified to administer the ADOS and ADR-I • Experienced in Research development with children with neurodevelopment disorders of Relating and communicating, including PDD, Down's syndrome, etc. • Experienced in starting programs • Excellent communication & written skills • Developing, managing and coordinating treatment plans (in the clinic and home-based) • Organizational skills, and the ability to be a team player is a must • Excellent presentation skills • Experienced in conducting therapy groups with parents of children with ASDs • Experienced in conducting 1:1 and group therapy sessions with children and adolescents (social & play groups)

• Initial Contact with families • Implementing all intakes and assessment for treatment • Treatment Coordination
Clinical Services • Direct services to the client with Autism Family Support • Parents Individually • Parent Support Groups • Siblings Individually • Sibling Support Groups • Training: work closely with the Executive Director to create and implement ongoing staff training
Participate in Projects at the Center in consultation with director and staff Design and execute research programs to support programming needs of the center
Community Outreach Bring awareness to the community about programming availability Provide affordable access to services to the local community
Other duties as assigned
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PhD or PSYD, but ABD candidates with exceptional experience will be considered.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the general supervision of the Executive Director.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED Will help oversee other psychology interns, graduate and undergraduate students, and students in other treatment modalities where appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT Interaction with children with ASD, interaction with families, and members of the community. Must be professional at all times. Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION Candidate should be working towards the completion of the doctoral degree in psychology or related field. Candidate who has completed the doctoral degree should be licensed or licensed eligible and working towards obtaining that license.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED All psychology assessment and diagnostic tools as related to the population served at the Rebecca Center and CACD. This includes but is not limited to: ADOS-2, CARS, PDDBI, SRS, Wechsler Series, Woodcock-Johnson Series, ABAS, Vineland Adaptive Scale, and other behavioral measures. Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, SPSS and other organizational programming. Use of personal computer, telephone; copy machine; and fax machine.
