Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director-Strategic Sourcing.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for establishment of close client relationships to ensure needs, test policies driving demand, and establish open specifications. It proceeds to formal (i.e., requests for proposal RFP) and informal (i.e., direct negotiations, benchmarking) market tests introducing competition wherever practical. Keeps the internal client involved in the process so that supplier selection has direct client input, thereby making any resulting implementations much easier
Assesses Needs and Initiates Sourcing Projects. Initiates new projects based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming contract expirations, supplier impacts of HSO demerger, and capital projects. Assists internal clients specify needs and defines supplier performance expectations. Analyzes and validates policies and practices driving demand.
Sourcing Strategies - Defines sourcing strategies that optimize value in light of client needs and market conditions. Applies project management skills that achieve project timing, and service and savings objectives. Assesses most beneficial means to access markets and drive the supplier behavior accordingly.
Market Evaluations - Gathers and interprets market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient, least resource-intense process. Evaluates supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques.
Supplier Selection and Contracting - Establishes business cases supporting sourcing recommendations. Conducts negotiations with suppliers on pricing and contractual terms and conditions. Develops contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies.
Implementation and Supplier Relationship Management - Partners with internal clients to implement efficient ordering routines that include appropriate controls. Assists departments implement sourcing changes, especially if moving to a new supplier and for more significant spends and services. Authors policies that drive demand and introduce and enforce appropriate behaviors in relation to suppliers. Works with Implementations Manager, Finance and departments to quantify the budget impacts of implementing new contracts (i.e., savings). With IT, establishes automated processes to enable efficient supplier interfaces in a controlled, integrated and cost-effective manner. With internal clients, periodically reviews supplier effectiveness; remains abreast of evolving internal client needs and keeps clients aware of evolving market capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a BA/BS degree, seven years of Strategic sourcing with responsibilities for various commodities --both products and services within and outside healthcare organizations. Demonstrated leadership of sourcing initiatives of a highly complex nature. Accomplished implementations on both a departmental and cross-enterprise basis.
Preferred Qualifications: MBA or MS; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other recognized certification
