The Legal Market Analyst for the Office of Career & Professional Development (OCPD), will provide research into legal employers throughout the tri-state area and beyond. Primary responsibilities include identifying, tracking and communicating with employers, including law firms, corporation, government agencies and non-profits. The Legal Market Analyst will continually update the office on the hiring trends in the legal market, and facilitate outreach to employers on behalf of the Director of Employer Relations.
The Legal Market Analyst will work closely with the Director of Employer Relations to strategically plan research into, and outreach to, legal employers and help identify new relationships. This role will work with the entire OCPD team to provide market information to counselors and students, and collect and provide feedback from hiring employers.
Research into private and public organizations that hire law students and law school graduates, with a focus on roles that require or prefer a JD
Track and record information on legal employers to make it accessible to the OCPD counselors and Brooklyn Law School (BLS) student body
Systematize outreach to employers and potential employers to help maintain employer relationships and increase opportunities for BLS students
Contact employers and potential employers to plan meetings for the Director of Employer Relations
Experience and Educational Background
Legal experience preferred, experience with or interest in legal marketplace required.
Cold calling experience a plus.
