Position Overview Supports assigned spend category requirements, assists in the development of framework to improve supplier and performance management. Conducts research identifying trends in the category market. Provides moderately complex analysis that defines opportunities to improve cost. Manages existing and/or newly acquired relationships and collaborates with suppliers on a moderate scope to identify and manage risks.
Supports assigned business categories with a spend of $50M-$100M by interfacing with business units to understand and support assigned spend category requirements by developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity; supports sourcing managers to negotiate new agreements and manage existing relationships with suppliers.
Leads key projects, processes, and other duties supporting management with increasing independence receiving guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues.
Utilizes systems to improve visibility and management of information; effectively manages contracts and supplier performance.
Defines opportunities to improve cost and add value by creating moderately complex models and conducting analysis.
Conducts research and stays current on category market, business, and technology trends improving category management and delivery value.
Supports enforcement of procurement policies and processes, including the use of Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes to identify potential suppliers.
Establishes and supports the development of ongoing reporting for key category metrics.
Collaborates between business units, Supply Management, and suppliers to coordinate between schedules, identify potential issues/risks, and manage accordingly.
Assists in the development of framework, improving supplier and performance management.
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations management, or a related field required
2-5 years experience required.
Experience in competitive procurement, sourcing, supply chain and/or contract management or related field; business, technical, or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of integrated or diverse supply chain systems
Demonstrated planning and time management skills
Ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Strong communication skills
Strong research and analytical skills
Microsoft office skills ( Excel, Word, Access and Power Point)
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures.
