APRA oversees the banking, general insurance, life insurance, private health insurance, and most of the superannuation industry. We're looking for professionals with relevant financial sector experience and the highest integrity to be involved in the critical role of supervising financial institutions, including some of Australia's largest conglomerates.
About these roles:
Supervising financial institutions with particular focus on financial strength, governance and risk management
Licensing new financial institutions
Analysing the financial safety implications of material changes to financial institutions' business operations, including mergers, acquisitions and divestments
Assessing industry risks as well as specific risks such as credit, market, investment and operational risks, and develop approaches to address emerging prudential risks
Protecting policyholders, depositors and superannuation fund members through enforcement action where appropriate
Experience in identifying and assessing risks from an Industry, Consulting, Risk Management, Audit or Accounting background
Strong financial analysis, investigative and research skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment, coupled with creative problem solving skills
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
Qualifications in a Finance-related discipline
