HSBC Luxembourg has a Compliance function which supports the various business entities in Luxembourg. As part of this support we are looking for a motivated individual fully dedicated to Compliance Monitoring review work in the position of:
The Luxembourg Deputy Head of Regulatory Compliance ("RC") / RC Compliance Lead acts as backup for a key strategic risk management leadership role that has a broad remit and responsibilities for providing oversight and management of all aspects of Regulatory Compliance Risk.
The role requires strong partnership with the business line and regional RC teams. It will provide policy advice related to all business line products, services and clients, and ensure that the RC team is addressing any compliance issues timely and efficiently.
The main responsibilities of the role are the following:
To implement strategy, standards, global systems and policies on regulatory compliance in Luxembourg
To monitor, track and communicate major proposals for regulatory change and regulatory and law enforcement trends for all areas of compliance risk. To communicate these proposals and trends to local senior management to support and facilitate a strategic appraisal of those trends as well as relevant opportunities and risks.
To implement the strategic operational objectives for regulatory compliance
To lead RC projects (coordination and including management of resources when required)
To support the development of the RC function as a key part of the Group's "second line of defence" in relation to compliance risk.
Act as alternative point of contact with lead regulators in Luxembourg and to foster good relations with them
To work constructively and collaboratively with the Luxembourg Head of Regulatory Compliance and with the full Luxembourg Regulatory Compliance team to ensure that the RC risks are fully and consistently managed
To act as a back-up of the RC Head in the different committees (RMM, FCC Exco...)
To be a member of different committee where RC has a seat (will be further detailed)
Professional Skills and Experience;
University graduate in Banking or Audit,
Significant experience as a regulator, compliance manager or equivalent within a global firm, in the financial services industry.
Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with regulators.
Dynamic, enthusiastic and self-motivated person with a naturally proactive approach;
Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
A legal or formal accountancy qualification or background in one of these a risk or audit discipline
Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel (Access is a pro);
Fluency in English required, French and/or another European language desired.
