Alford Executive Search, a division of KEES, has been exclusively retained by the International Music Foundation (IMF) in its search for a new Executive Director to serve as the external face of the Chicago-based organization and to formulate and implement a strategic plan for the newly merged organization. The new leader will be a visionary, charismatic forward thinker, who brings strong financial expertise and a proven background of strong organizational management, volunteer and donor management experience. S/he will demonstrate a passion for IMF’s mission and a track record of collaborating with a Board of Directors to strengthen and grow an organization.

Specific requirements include:
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in leadership and management, with documented ability to manage staff and lead teams.
Past experience in working with, developing and leading a Board of Directors.
Proven ability to build strong external relationships with a variety of volunteers, public leadership, partner organizations, funders, and other stakeholders.
Track record in financial management, stewardship, and developing strategies to successfully increase revenue.
Proven success in building strong and productive work teams with a focus on mentoring and nurturing staff development.
Strong analytic and strategic-thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor complex plans, and translate those plans into goals and concrete strategies.
Career track record that shows stability with an organization and capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in overall success.
Experience leading a performing arts organization, preferably one with robust classical music programming is strongly preferred.
