Provides leadership and overall administration, clinical planning, program development, and operations of the Rehabilitation Services Department. Provides direction, guidance, supervision, and mentoring to a multidisciplinary team consistent with the objectives of the Mission and Vision of the Health System.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Manages staff including recruiting, hiring, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, mediation, professional growth, development plan, performance improvement, performance appraisal, terminating & payroll. Leads in engagement and teambuilding initiatives.
Plans, organizes, and oversees operations of designated areas. Monitors and adjusts staffing plan to meet the needs of the department. Monitors, evaluates, and identifies opportunities to improve service delivery.
Leads in evidence-based practice initiatives including researching, developing, selecting & implementing Clinical Practice Guidelines, protocols, and algorithms. Ensures clinical excellence to provide quality services to internal/external customers. Manages clinical competency process and completion of forms and reports.
Ensure access to patients through the continuing of care including prioritization criteria, waiting lists, scheduling queues, patient transfers from one location to another, and transition from inpatient to outpatient.
Serves as a resource in the provision of direct patient care. Based on staffing needs, provides therapy within specialty area including evaluation, reevaluation, development, and implementation of a plan of care and home program. Clinically productive time not to exceed 30% of work hours/week.
Resolves patient complaints/issues and follows up with stakeholders for conflict resolution and service recovery.
Oversees compliance with all standards for safety, risk management, and infection control, as required by the Hospital, enforcement agencies, and regulatory and/or accrediting bodies.
Organizes/participates in planning or execution of marketing activities with the Marketing department. Plans and coordinates presentations to hospital personnel and outside groups and serves as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
Assists Leader with service line and departmental standards, monitor metrics, provide training, and compliance of customer services program.
Leads in program development or expansion to department and hospital wide strategic or operational goals. Provides guidance on programmatic issues related to therapy services and programs.
Assists Leader with improvement process including the preparation, analysis, and submission of reports. Prepares monthly financial variance reports, productivity analysis, and manages budget for cost centers.
Assists Leader with the service line, departmental, and hospital wide quality improvement process/program including the analysis and submission of reports. Identifies, implements, analysis, and monitors quality indicators. Audits, monitors, and analyses data, results, and track outcomes. Recommends and implements change and action plans to improve services or operations.
Assists Leader in policy planning and administration. Monitoring compliance, procedures, and guidelines including Practice Acts for assigned disciplines, professional national associations, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and accrediting bodies.
Board certification in a relevant specialty area preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity in rehabilitation preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately interact with patients, caregiver(s), physicians, co-workers, and other health care professionals in all work related situations.
Ability to objectively supervise a diverse multidisciplinary department.
Ability to learn appropriate software applications including MS Office.
Demonstrates leadership and good supervisory skills.
Knowledge in data collection and interpretation.
Minimum Job Requirements:
5 or more years of experience working with pediatric population (0-21 years old) required.
Florida professional Therapist licensure required (PT, OT, or SLP).
