Providence is calling a Coordinator, Volunteer Services (Day Shift, 0.8 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Seattle, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Develop and maintain a sound organizational structure for the volunteer services program, to include: volunteer policies and procedures, written job descriptions for volunteer positions, an effective recruitment program, and methods for volunteer performance appraisal and management.
Hire, train, schedule, counsel, and supervise volunteers by providing support, information, education, and feedback by phone, via e-mail, and in person as necessary; document and track volunteer communication and changes in status.
Track requests for volunteers, assigns volunteers to participants or service requests, and track volunteer assignments.
Ensure that volunteers have forms and other tools necessary to perform volunteer duties. Create and update volunteer forms and provide volunteers with documentation forms and other needed forms/materials as needed.
Requiredqualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience
A valid Washington state driver's license and have access to daily use of an insured vehicle
Possess a valid Food Handlers Permit within 3 months of employment
Minimum 1 year working with the elderly
At least 2 years experience managing staff and/or volunteers in a community based or residential human service program
Preferredqualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy
Experience coordinating a volunteer program
