My client is a New York-based fund of funds (FOF) firm raising their funds in mainland China from distributors. They have raised significant amount of capital already in last 12 months and details can be shared with shortlisted candidates directly.
·They create customized FOF products which give Chinese investors exposure to access constrained top tier US and European alternative asset managers
·They distribute their products to investors through strategic distribution partners
·They have a successful record of marketing highly sought after products unavailable to Chinese retail investors.
·Since 2015, their distribution partners have placed multiple FOFs of world-class managers, which are on track to generate superior returns
·They have a solid product pipeline of private equity funds, secondaries, co-investments and hedge funds that meet the different return, liquidity and duration requirements of their distribution partners'
·We are confident that their distribution partnership will result in a win-win for both firms and their investors.
They are looking for a senior profile with strong connectivity with distributors in mainland China and possibly outside of China as well to launch their Asia business. This could start in the form of a consulting agreement initially but the idea will be to find someone strong enough to be a partner in the business once both sides are comfortable.
Role location is flexible but ideally HK/Mainland. You should be a C-level candidate with unquestionable contacts in the industry.
Since this role requires selling to chinese investors we require candidates fluent in Chinese.
