Trinitas has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Certified RN Midwife to work in our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Our Certified Nurse Midwives provide care to a culturally diverse population. Births take place at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, where obstetricians and neonatologists are in attendance at all times. Certified Midwives are an integral part of the Trinitas Regional Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We strive to help each woman develop confidence in her ability to give birth without undue medical intervention. However, as skilled clinicians, our Certified Nurse Midwives are trained to screen women for potential complications and consult and collaborate with obstetricians when safety warrants.
Each woman under our care can experience her pregnancy and childbirth with assurance that, if necessary, she and her child will have access to the most advanced medical technology. We recognize the importance of family in the birth experience, and encourage appropriate participation by fathers/partners and siblings. Trinitas Certified Midwives provide L&D coverage and in the Private OB practices and the Women's Health Center.
Responsibilities Include: •Comprehensive gynecologic care, including annual well-woman physical and pelvic exams. •Education and counseling in nutrition, exercise, physiological and emotional changes, and sexuality •Breast feeding assistance and encouragement •Assistance in developing a personalized birth plan •Prenatal care •Labor support and management
Qualifications: •Professional Registered Nurse NJ State License •Certified Nurse Midwife NJ State License •NJ Controlled Substance License •Federal DEA; Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification •Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification •Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
