Merit School of Music is seeking a Facilities & Technology Coordinator to begin as soon as possible. The Facilities & Technology Coordinator provides administrative support to the Facilities Manager, assists in supervising and training of Building Attendants, and provides information technology (IT) support to the organization. This position will work directly with faculty, staff, and/or rental clients by performing technical and administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and efficiency of the facilities and technology systems/networks. High developed attention to detail and organizational skills are required.

The School’s broad-ranging comprehensive curriculum, extensive level of financial aid, sense of community and the standard of excellence set forth by the faculty and students are major components of its success.
Merit offers a multi-leveled, structured curriculum in a college preparatory environment. Programs take place at the Joy Faith Knapp Music Center in Chicago’s West Loop and at nearly 30 locations in neighborhoods across the City. Instruction is offered to approximately 5,000 students of all ages, from infants to adults, and from beginners to the Juilliard-bound by over 150 accomplished faculty members.
Merit has an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million, of which more than half is supported by contributed revenue, with a third coming from earned revenue, including rental income.

The Facilities & Technology Coordinator reports to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities of the Facilities & Technology Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Conduct building walk throughs to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
Supervise and train Building Attendants, as well as organize and maintain work schedules
Resolve problems associated with all building services including, maintenance, parking & equipment
Provide administrative support for facility related clerical paperwork, answering phone calls and emails, and completing rental contracts
Represent the Facilities Department in inter-departmental meetings to support and facilitate communication and action between departments
Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of project implementation as needed
Other duties as assigned
Manage information technology assets and computer systems (e.g. laptops, desktops, servers, networking infrastructure, etc.)
Perform tasks to support security of data and availability of network access
Provide technical support or training for systems and networks
Perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration
Office 365 service administration, service enablement, and account maintenance, including user account setup and configuration to allow users to access services
Install and configure software/hardware, and complete technology set up for new work stations
Maintain and update technology systems and software
Respond to security incidents and outages to restore service to impacted parties
Maintain and update security signatures and antivirus software
Oversee and execute technology improvements projects such as upgrades, software installations and migrations
