Under general supervision, the Systems Analyst serves as subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures associated with enterprise applications. This role documents functional requirements, analyzes requirements in the context of software and processes, develops test plans, assists with and documents business process improvement efforts, and works with production issues. Reporting to the Functional Applications Manager performs tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of the University's enterprise financial systems. This position typically works with higher-level analysts, but may handle smaller or less complex projects independently.
Works with end users and peers to document and analyze functional requirements, identify gaps and analyze alternative approaches to meet requirements (adhering to approved methodology and documentation standards)
Writes test scripts and perform detailed testing to ensure that software and reports function correctly
Works with functional, technical and reporting peers to identify best approaches to ensure that user requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner and implement approved solutions
Works with technical, reporting and application resources to analyze and resolve production issues in a timely manner
Assists in software evaluation and configuration
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent education, training and experience from which comparable skills, abilities and knowledge can be acquired
Three to four years’ work experience
Experience performing business analyst functions, such as writing user specifications, developing test scripts, implementing solutions and providing ongoing support is required.
Minimum of two years’ experience working with a major enterprise business system (e.g., ERP/CRM), with a preference for PeopleSoft Financials and SciQuest eProcurement in a higher education environment, is highly desired
Experience working directly with departmental representatives and end users

Deep functional expertise with Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Ability to use SQL, PL/SQL, or other query tools to perform analysis
Ability to acquire technical and functional proficiency with new software applications
Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
Knowledge of a formal software development/ implementation methodology, including structured testing, is highly desired
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
Experience in a higher education institution is highly preferred
Experience as a professional services consultant
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Knowledge of and experience working with the PeopleSoft eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Expenses, General Ledger, and Commitment Control modules and the SciQuest eProcurement suite is highly preferred
Knowledge of higher education or public sector business processes including procurement, accounts payable, expenses, accounting and asset management is highly desired
Proficiency with Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, PeopleSoft Query, Cognos (Report Studio, Query Studio) is highly desired
Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Project
