Maintain, develop, test and document software tools in support of technology-based in-home monitoring and intervention studies.
This position is part of a team of researchers working to understand how in-home technologies can be used to detect health and memory changes. The Senior Research Assistant will be involved in improving and testing technologies to support the team's research objectives and will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the software that provides a framework for researchers to view and access the data for analyses. The software for this work must be designed by a fully integrated research programmer to ensure quality and appropriate consideration of broad contexts when developing hypotheses, analyses, and new behavioral metrics. This position will ensure the availability and quality of data as well as the creation of novel tools to help carry out the research proposed by project investigators. This position will contribute to the design, development and implementation and management of sensor-based protocols and technical systems.
Bachelor's degree with major courses in field of research and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
2+ years software development
Experience developing for Linux distributions
Critical thinking skills and the ability to learn and integrate new information quickly
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift 20 lbs.
Experience with Puppet, Cassandra, Neo4j
