This position will require weekday evenings and Sunday morning hours with flexibility to work Saturday hours during the summer when classes are in session. This position will continue into the fall but the schedule will change to include evening hours until midnight as well as daytime weekend hours. This position is non-benefit eligible, the hourly rate is $13 per hour and the schedule will not exceed 20 hours a week. Responsibilities: Provide circulation, reserve, and interlibrary loan assistance, charging, discharging and renewing library materials, collecting fines, answering the telephone, shelving materials. Perform stack maintenance. Occasional supervision of work study students (in the absence of full time staff). Other projects as assigned. Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants: High school diploma (or equivalent) Strong customer services skills Demonstrated ability for strong attention to detail The ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required May also be asked to staff during inclement weather when school is closed but the library is open Must be able to move a cart of books, approximately 25 lbs, and bend and stretch as appropriate to re-shelve material Preferred: Library experience; knowledge of automated library systems, particularly Innovative Interfaces Inc. (III), experience supervising student or part time employees, and/or work experience in an academic setting.
