Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager-Sleep Study.
In this role, the successful candidate Under the general supervision of the Director, the Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Sleep Study Program.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Inpatient Sleep Study program for the Adult and Pediatric Population
Provides strategic oversight of the program recommending and implementing improvements on an ongoing basis.
Ensures compliance with AASM by developing and enforcing policies and procedures as it applies to the Sleep Study Program. Independently identifies and updates policies as needed to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
Ensures Sleep Technologist competencies are kept current, and assessed on an annualized basis. Observes trains and develops Sleep Technologist competencies as needed. Holds Technologists accountable to the required competencies. Develop and maintain Education Materials in support of training.
Conduct initial employee orientation and on-going training of the Sleep Technologists. Assesses competency readiness for individual sleep studies post-hire.
Responsible for performance review assessment and provides supervisor with direct feedback as it relates to the sleep study duties.
Responsible for ensuring all employee CEUs are obtained and updated on time.
Coordinate inpatient diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities. Confirm physician orders and patient consent before sleep study.
Responsible for the maintenance of Sleep Study Equipment PM and supplies. Ensures up-to-date programs and software orders.
Create and maintain sleep study database
Score all pediatric and adult in-patient sleep studies to AASM standards. Collect, analyze and integrate patient information
Demonstrate competency with and Teach the use of SenTec Digital Monitoring System (SDMS) with accessories Plethysmography Belts Proflow nasal cannula Thermal nasal cannula Inductive Kits Pressure Transducer airflow sensor Computer with NicVue sleep study software by Natus
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a To qualify you must have a minimum of three years experience in sleep technology and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technologist AND sleep care manager. NYS OP License and current registration as a Polysomnographic Technologist, OR, Registered Respiratory Therapist, OR Respiratory Therapy Technician competent to perform Polysomnographic Technology services..
Preferred Qualifications: Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist Credential (NBRC NPS credential); Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care or related area of specialization from a respiratory care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. Three years postgraduate hospital experience as a respiratory therapist with one year significant perinatal/pediatric experience; BCLS/ACLS/PALS/NALS Certification
