Primary Responsibility: Works closely with the ED and CEO/Founder to develop and execute the strategy for the philanthropic financial advancement of The MAVEN Project. Coordinates and executes all aspects of annual and capital fundraising for The MAVEN Project.
The MAVEN Project, short for Medical Alumni Volunteer Expert Network, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides access and reduced wait times for needed care in underserved communities through our physician volunteers (both specialists and primary care physicians) who provide clinical consultation, education and mentoring to healthcare organizations in need. The MAVEN Project delivers value by matching its national corps of engaged physician volunteers with organizations serving vulnerable and underserved populations. The MAVEN Project makes it easy, fun and meaningful for physicians to volunteer time and expertise.
Manage The MAVEN Project annual fundraising calendar, providing regular updates to the CEO/Founder, Executive Director, and Board.
Assist in the recruitment of, and manage, fundraising volunteers coordinating all meetings and support materials necessary for execution
Create solicitation letters and any applicable collateral materials in close partnership with the ED and Founder
Coordinate solicitation mailings & follow-up for all constituencies –– including drafting of standard solicitation letters and acknowledgement letters for The MAVEN Project
Maintain clear and accurate records of constituent giving and compile benchmarking information for comparisons with like organizations. (Bay Area, Boston Area and national)
Develop and implement strategies for increasing participation in annual support and to upgrade existing donors in support of the program
Maintain a complete and updated database of donors
In conjunction with the Executive Director, staff and Board, plans and executes annual special events (Leadership Circle Dinners, Receptions, Campaign cultivation events) at the direction of the Executive Director and/or Founder/CEO
7-10 years of increasingly responsible professional development/fundraising experience with a track record of success
Proven managerial skills and the ability to develop and inspire donors and volunteers
Experience securing major gifts
Experience in developing prospect strategies, briefing documents and talking points for volunteers, administrators and staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience conceptualizing, writing, and coordinating campaign materials
Superb organization and administrative skills
Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and fundraising databases
A clear understanding of and appreciation for The MAVEN Project mission
