The primary purpose of this position is to fulfill processing requests in a way which results in timely access to Markel’s services and products for producers and optimizes the productivity of Markel’s underwriters, support staff and business partners. Provides clerical support to the underwriting process by accurately expediting incoming requests and routing documents to the correct Markel contact for further handling. Provides excellent customer service to Markel’s customers, both internal and external, and maintains established business standards.
Process and issue policies and endorsements; follow-up with agents for information required for binding and policy issuance.
Facilitate the renewal solicitation process.
Answer inbound agent calls as part of the Carrier Alliance call center, averaging 30 calls or greater per day, and answer or route, as appropriate, questions regarding products and coverages.
Handle express renewals.
Assist with the billing and collection process.
Coordinate with partner carrier on agent reassignments and process changes.
Answer or route, as appropriate, agent questions received from website.
Responsible for mailroom functions for the entire Chicago office.
Recent college graduate or minimum of 1 year relevant experience
Inbound call center experience a plus
Ability to recognize priority tasks and adjust accordingly
